Jan. 14--Virbac Corp., a marketer of veterinary products, said Thursday that it received a Wells Notice from the staff of the Securities and Exchange Commission, which means the SEC is considering a civil enforcement action against the company for possible violations of securities laws.
The SEC began investigating Fort Worth-based Virbac last February after the company said it had overstated earnings and revenue over several years. The overstatement led to the departures early last year of Virbac's chief executive officer and chief financial officer.
Company officials said they are discussing the matter with the SEC and wouldn't comment further. Under SEC...
