N.Y. Gov. Signs Historic Senior Housing Law; AARP Top Legislative Priority Will Provide Consumer Protections to Elderly in Assisted Living

LEVITTOWN, N.Y., Oct. 26 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Today, as a result of Gov. Pataki's commitment to older New Yorkers, residents of all assisted living facilities will now enjoy strong consumer protections. With the signing into law of the Assisted Living Reform Act all assisted living facilities will be licensed and inspected by the state to ensure the delivery of quality services and the ability of residents to age in place safely.
