WASHINGTON, Sept. 23 /U.S. Newswire/ -- U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao issued the following statement on the "Flexibility for Displaced Worker Act," signed today by President Bush:
"President Bush's action today will accelerate the Gulf region's recovery by providing more jobs, more job training and other supportive services to survivors of Hurricane Katrina. It gives the Department of Labor the flexibility we need to get more help to more people as quickly as possible."
