Iraq War Non-Violent Protest Trial in Second Day at U.S. District Court

WASHINGTON, Jan. 19 /U.S. Newswire/ -- On Sept. 26, 2005, U.S. Park Police and other U.S. agencies arrested 371 Iraq war protesters who staged a non-violent demonstration outside the White House. Eighteen of the defendants are being tried this week in U.S. District Court. The trial began Wednesday when the U.S. Park Police and District of Columbia prosecutors presented their case, and continues at 9 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 19 as the defendants make arguments and are expected to speak out against Bush Administration policies in the Iraq War.
