Department of Justice Holds Ceremony to Recognize ADA Certification Equivalency for North Carolina Accessibility Code

WASHINGTON, Feb. 9 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Department of Justice today announced during a ceremony in Cary, North Carolina, that the state's Accessibility Code has been awarded certification for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). North Carolina is the sixth state in the country to receive ADA certification.

Wan J. Kim, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division participated in the certification ceremony with several North Carolina officials and recognized the state for meeting or exceeding the ADA accessibility requirements for new construction and alterations.
