NACOL Urges Congress to Restore Technology Funding for Nation's Public Schools; Inner Cities, Rural Districts Hit Hardest

WASHINGTON, June 13 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The North American Council for Online Learning (NACOL) today appealed to the House Appropriations Committee headed by Rep. Jerry Lewis (R-Calif.) to restore funding "as a matter of urgency" for needed technology and online learning in the nation's public schools.
The cuts recently proposed by the Committee's education subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Ralph Regula (R-Ohio), would deprive tens of thousands of inner city and rural schools of access to needed equipment and online learning, said NACOL president Susan Patrick in a letter to committee members.
