College Students Sound Off on 9/11; MTV News Anchor Gideon Yago to Explore Impact of Terrorist Attacks on a Generation

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y., Aug. 31 /U.S. Newswire/ -- MTV News Anchor Gideon Yago will lead a student forum on the campus of Hofstra University next week that explores the impact of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on today's youth.

As Pearl Harbor and the assassination of John F. Kennedy were for earlier generations, September 11 was a defining event for Americans coming of age in 2001. For many, the time and place when they first learned of the attacks remain frozen in time.

The Student Town Hall, which will be held at Hofstra's Monroe Lecture Center on the South Campus on Tuesday, Sept. 5 from 2:45 p.m. to 4 p.m., is part of a symposium on "The Future of September 11" marking the fifth anniversary of the attacks.
