WASHINGTON, July 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, 600 U.S. Mayors have signed The U.S. Conference of Mayors' Climate Protection Agreement, an agreement where supporting mayors pledge to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 7 percent below 1990 levels by 2012. This agreement is the only climate protection agreement of its kind among U.S. elected officials. Cedar Rapids Mayor Kay Halloran became the 600th mayor to sign the agreement.
