Retailers Say CPSC Reform Bill Could Hamper Product Safety

WASHINGTON, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Retail Federation today welcomed a Senate proposal to increase funding for the Consumer Product Safety Commission and reduce lead in children's jewelry, but said huge new fines and other provisions in the bill could hamper efforts to improve product safety.
