NEW YORK, Jan. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Thirty-one venture- backed initial public offerings totaling $3.0 billion in proceeds were issued in the fourth quarter of 2007, according to the Exit Poll report by Thomson Financial and the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA). This volume represents the highest quarterly number of IPO's since the third quarter of 2000. For the year, 86 venture-backed companies went public for $10.3 billion, a 51 percent increase in volume over 2006 when 57 companies went public for $5.1 billion. In...
