Financial News, June, 2001
UBS Warburg has launched three new global equity products covering emerging market banks. The weekly, monthly and biannual publications will cover 64 out of the 106 banks in Latin America, Asia and Europe (emerging), the Middle East and Africa, writes Lynn Strongin Dodds.
Altogether, the banks in this smaller global emerging market banks universe have a market capitalisation of $232bn (E273bn) and represent 88% of the total market capitalisation. Asian banks are the largest geographical subsection, accounting for 48% of total market cap, followed by EMEA at 30% and Latin America at 22%.
