Jon Moulton of buy-out firm Alchemy Partners publicly declared a few days back that it's business as usual. He is apparently burning to do more deals.

Well, his first big deal in the City of London is turning into the Jarndyce v. Jarndyce of the financial sector. Alchemy, which has a reputation for hard bargaining, is backing John Millar, boss of Williams de Broe, in buying the broker out from the ING Barings stable, where it has been unhappily lodged for some time.

It has been months since we heard about the imminent deal. But we are reassured (again) that the deal is still very much on the table. The big figure put on the deal all those months ago was around [pound]100m. That was then - this is now.
