Oil giant BP cemented its place as the UK's best company for investor relations last week, winning several prizes at the annual awards held by Investor Relations magazine.BP won an award for best overall investor relations, as well as being named for best disclosure practice and, as a joint winner with Shell, best corporate social responsibility practice. It also won gongs for best investor-targeted advertising campaign, best results meetings and analyst briefings, and best communication of shareholder value.
The ceremony proved a bad night for Vodafone, which walked away with several top prizes last year. One year on, the mobile phone company picked up just one award - for best UK company IR in the US market.
