Candover hire to push into Europe.

John Arney, a director specialising in media, support services and chemicals industries, has left JP Morgan Partners to join Candover as the growth of pan-continental private equity firms gains momentum across Europe.Candover wants to develop a presence on the Continent. Arney, who has become a director in Candover's buy-out team, said this was a large part of the attraction of the new job.

He said: "I enjoyed my years at JP Morgan Partners, but my ambition has been to join a European thoroughbred. JP Morgan Partners is a global firm but the mother ship is New York. Candover is purely focused on Europe."
