Barclays Capital loses chief financial officer.

Financial News, January, 2003

The investment banking arm of Barclays has suddenly parted company with one of its most senior executives. In an internal email late last week, Barclays Capital told staff that chief financial officer Mark Arnold is leaving the firm. It is understood that no explanation was given for his departure other than to say he was taking a one-year sabbatical. His role is to be taken over by internal candidate Patrick Clackson.

The restructuring following Arnold's departure is the latest in a series of management changes at the operation, which is run by the high-profile American banker Bob Diamond.
