Shacklock lines up with DrKW on Virgin merger deal.

Tim Shacklock, a partner at corporate finance boutique Gleacher Shacklock, has appeared in his first public deal discussions since joining the firm, working alongside his former colleagues from Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.Shacklock has been advising BMI British Midland, the UK airline, on the aborted merger talks with Virgin Atlantic, part of Richard Branson's Virgin Group.

Shacklock, who quit as deputy chairman of DrKW last October, resurfaced in March at the London branch of US-based Gleacher & Co, now known in the UK as Gleacher Shacklock, after taking a break.

He got to know BMI when, in 1999, the company appointed the bank, then known as Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, to advise it on choosing an alliance partner. The...
