Montagu Private Equity cashes in on drugs packaging group.

Montagu Private Equity, the UK investment firm, has almost doubled its money in just over a year with the sale of Risdon Pharma, a pharmaceutical plastic packaging manufacturer.The [euro]125m ($147m) sale to Rexam, a global packaging group, is the second out of Montagu's French office this year. It sold Ampafrance, a baby pram manufacturer, for $240m in February.

Montagu is expected to clinch the [euro]500m deal to buy Actaris, a French provider of energy metering systems, from LBO France next week, according to a source close to the situation.

Montagu bought Risdon Pharma in March 2002 for an enterprise value of [euro]72m. Montagu was then a subsidiary of HSBC, which retains a 20% stake in the newly independent...
