LVMH hires Lazard partner as deputy CFO.

LVMH, the French luxury goods company, has recruited Jean-Jacques Guiony, a Paris-based partner at Lazard Freres, as its deputy chief financial officer.Guiony was one of Lazard's rising stars in Paris and was made a general partner last year. He will join LVMH as deputy CFO on September 15 before succeeding Patrick Houel as CFO in the middle of 2004. Houel will become adviser to Bernard Arnault, LVMH's billionaire chairman and chief executive.

Houel will be proposed as a board member at LVMH's next annual shareholders meeting in May 2004.

LVMH has an investment banking relationship with Lazard, which earlier this year advised the French company on its disposal of the Hine cognac brand to CL World Brands for an undisclosed...
