Morgan Stanley has brought Sir David Walker out of retirement to give him his old role as chairman of Morgan Stanley International.Walker, who is stepping back into a role he left four years ago, is to chair Morgan Stanley's executive committee and will be expected to help formulate Morgan Stanley's strategy.

Morgan Stanley has been looking for a new chairman for its international arm for five months. Stephan Newhouse has been waiting to hand over the role since last November when he took up the post of president, succeeding Robert Scott.
