Business Times (Malaysia) 06-09-2000 THE conflict within the World Trade Organisation (WTO), that co-called clash between trade liberalisation and core labour standards, is self- inflicted. But member countries can impress upon the people who run this organisation that it is not too late to treat the condition, as long as they don't wait; or else the members would be risking an infection, which could lead to things even more painful and definitely uglier than last year's meeting in Seattle, the US.
