Telekom mulling merger of units with strategic partners, BUSINESS TIMES

Business Times (Malaysia) 09-05-2000 TELEKOM Malaysia Bhd may study the possibility of merging its subsidiaries with strategic partners rather than merge with a foreign telecommunications company at group level. Its chairman Datuk Mohd Radzi Mansor told Business Times that instead of two large telecommunications operators merging, it may look to see the relevant subsidiaries merge - such as, its cellular subsidiary with a strong foreign cellular company - to ensure that the divisions that need the added value of a merger, get it.
