Toyota optimistic about prospects in Asean mart, BUSINESS TIMES

Business Times (Malaysia) 02-20-2001 JAPAN'S largest car manufacturer, Toyota Motor Corp, welcomes the Asean Free Trade Area (Afta) initiative, and while awaiting its full implementation is actively promoting the Asean Industrial Cooperation (Aico) programme. "Asia is an important market and with the Asian economies recovering fairly well from the regional economic crisis, Toyota is optimistic about the market's future.
"As such, we see greater growth in this part of the world," Toyota Motor's project manager for corporate public relations Masahiko Minamide said.
