Mini set to get enthusiastic response, BUSINESS TIMES

Business Times (Malaysia) 08-14-2001 THE new Mini has arrived in Malaysia. The BMW-made remake of the famous Brit icon of the sixties is brought in by Cartrade Sdn Bhd but marketing and after sales support is supplied by Auto Bavaria. Cartrade chief executive Ilyas Mohamad said the company will bring in three models, starting with the 90bhp Mini One and the 115 bhp Mini Cooper. Eventually, the company will also make available the top-of-the- line 163bhp Mini Cooper S when it is launched.
Prices for the fully-imported Mini is expected to start from RM130,000 for the entry level Mini One; RM155,000 for the sportier Mini Cooper and RM185,000 for the flagship Mini Cooper S. The new Mini, built at the BMW Group plant in Oxford, UK, is a future- oriented...
