Lee: Emulate Singapore in forging FTAs, BUSINESS TIMES

Business Times (Malaysia) 09-06-2001 SINGAPORE Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew has urged Association of South- East Asian Nations (Asian) member countries to consider emulating the island's step in forging free trade agreements (FTA) with other countries. He said other Asian members should reap the benefits of "joint economic partnership".
"I think other Asian countries should consider and also have joint economic partnership," he told a press conference in Kuala Lumpur at the end of his four-day official visit to Malaysia yesterday.
