BSN targets 1m cardholders for BSN Matrix in a year, BUSINESS TIMES

Business Times (Malaysia) 09-12-2001 BANK Simpanan National Bhd (BSN) hopes to rope in between 600,000 and one million cardholders for its debit card, BSN Matrix Visa Electron, within a year of its launch. According to BSN's general manager and chief executive Abu Huraira Abu Yazid, all nine million of its customers qualify for the card as the minimum age limit requirement is 12 years old.

Abu Huraira was speaking to reporters following the launch of the card in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. BSN Matrix Visa Electron is a payment card which enables customers to pay for goods and services at point-of-sale establishments such as retail stores, supermarkets, hotels and restaurants.
