Ericsson sees Asia Pacific as its key growth market, BUSINESS TIMES

Business Times (Malaysia) 11-15-2001 MOBILE systems and multiservice networks provider Ericsson will focus on Asia Pacific as its key growth market, anticipating it to account for more than a third of global sales in the next few years even as sales elsewhere in the world start to slow down.
"Asia Pacific for us is a very dynamic market. It is the fastest growing in the world... there are tremendous opportunities," said its president and chief executive officer Kurt Hellstrom at the company's strategy and technology summit in Hong Kong last Friday. The region accounted for 27 per cent, or 46.2 billion Swedish krona (100 krona = RM36.84), of global sales for the nine months to September 30 2001. Of this, Malaysia represented 5 to 6 per cent. ...
