Investors cautious over bullish chips sector forecast, BUSINESS TIMES

Business Times (Malaysia) 11-19-2001 THE investment fraternity has taken the bullish forecast of the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) on the troubled semiconductor industry with a pinch of salt, as business visibility remains unclear with lead time for orders still short at between two and three weeks.
"There has been no significant change in business fundamentals of the semiconductor industry but more of a gradual improvement. "However, it is still too early to expect a quick recovery as consumer sentiments remain uncertain on the back of the economic slowdown as well as continued fears of terrorist attacks in the US," a sectoral analyst said.
