Advertising expenditure last year up 2.6pc to RM3.16b, BUSINESS TIMES

Business Times (Malaysia) 02-15-2002 TOTAL advertising expenditure (AdEx) last year grew by 2.6 per cent to RM3.16 billion from the amount in 2000, according to AC Nielsen. The total AdEx for last year slightly exceeded AC Nielsen's forecast of RM3.15 billion. In 2000, total advertising expenditure was RM3.08 billion. AC Nielsen described the higher AdEx in 2001 as "impressive" given the gobal economic downturn that saw most companies reducing advertising and promotion budgets.
