Airbus' A340-600 to undertake Asian route-proving tour, BUSINESS TIMES

Business Times (Malaysia) 04-16-2002 AIRBUS' newest commercial airliner, A340-600, will undertake a route- proving tour in Asia this week as part of a certification program for the aircraft to ensure excellent operational standards. On Friday, the aircraft will fly out of Singapore into Manila in the Philippines and Bangkok in Thailand.
The route-proving tour, which began on April 8 out of London's Heathrow Airport, is a three-continent multi-city tour. It will cover a host of Asian and North American routes on two separate circuits - London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, Taipeh, Los Angeles and New York with Virgin Atlantic; and Frankfurt, Singapore, Manila, Bangkok, Shanghai, San Francisco, Montreal and Vancouver with Lufthansa.
