Ernst & Young, Andersen finalizing merger process, BUSINESS TIMES

Business Times (Malaysia) 05-09-2002 ACCOUNTING firm Ernst & Young Malaysia's merger with Andersen Malaysia, triggered by the Enron Corp debacle, is almost complete. The enlarged firm, to operate under the banner of Ernst & Young, has finalized their new line-up and is almost completing the due diligence process, sources say.
It is understood that the combined force will continue under the leadership of Ernst & Young's current chairma, Datuk Nordin Baharuddin. His counterpart from Andersen Malaysia, Datuk Zainal Abidin Putih, who is also chairman of Hanafiah Raslan & Mohammed (HRM), is understood to have tendered his resignation earlier.
