Lion Corp's revised debt revamp plan gets SC nod, BUSINESS TIMES

Business Times (Malaysia) 07-15-2002 LION Corp Bhd's restructuring scheme to repay RM8.6 billion of debt received the Securities Commission's (SC) green light but the approval came attached with revisions and stringent conditions. Its restructuring plan, overseen by the Government's debt mediator the Corporate Debt Restructuring Committee, is likely to provide relief to the country's banks as it is the biggest outstanding case under the agency's portfolio.
"The group is optimistic that with its commitment to the restructuring exercise and the support of all the scheme creditors and shareholders, the group will turn around on the back of the improved performances of the local and regional economies," it said in a press release. Lion's revised plan...
