Telekom appeals JKR decision, BUSINESS TIMES

Business Times (Malaysia) 09-06-2002 TELEKOM Malaysia Bhd has filed an appeal in the High Court for the review of a decision made by Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) over its dispute with the contractors of the Multimedia University Campus at Cyberjaya, Selangor Darul Ehsan. The company said differences arose between Tan Sri Mustapha Kamal Haji Abu Bakar, Eastborne Cor Bhd, Projass Engineering Bhd and Shorefield Holdings Sdn Bhd (MEPS) and this was referred to JKR.
The dispute involves the completion of outstanding works, remedying of defects, retention of the cash performance guarantee, the deduction of liquidated damages for delay and the certification and payment of the retention money. JKR had decided on June 27 but Telekom is currently appealing the decision. ...
