American Express looks to GNS unit to drive growth, BUSINESS TIMES

Business Times (Malaysia) 07-16-2003 AMERICAN Express International Inc is looking at its Global Network Services (GNS) business unit to drive the company's long-term growth. The GNS unit, which seeks partnerships with financial institutions and big organizations to issue American Express-branded cards, has seen compounded growth of 40 per cent in both the number of cards issued and billings since its launch in 1997.

Vice-president and head of GNS for Asia-Pacific, Kula Kulendran, told Business Times that the business unit has been tagged as one of the company's main growth engines.
