Call for probe into influx of imitation motorcycles, BUSINESS TIMES

Business Times (Malaysia) 07-22-2003 HONG Leong Industries Bhd has asked the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti) to look into dumping of imitation motorcycles from China, which it says may hurt their business. Its chief operating officer (Yamaha division), C.H. Ng, said the influx of imitation motorcycles is an unfair competition and can cause local players to lose customers.

"On this issue of Chinese motorcycles, we have raised our concerns with the authorities," he said at the launch of Hong Leong Yamaha's new four- stroke moped model, the Yamaha Lagenda 110 in Subang Jaya yesterday.
