A first for launch of carmaker's new 5 series, BUSINESS TIMES

Business Times (Malaysia) 09-15-2003 HUNDREDS of members of the media and BMW dealers worldwide are in Kuala Lumpur to witness the international media launch of the new BMW 5 series, the first time any international carmakers has used Malaysia as a platform for an international launch.
The event was designed to not only highlight the technological innovation of the new BMW 5 Series, but also the progress of Malaysia. Commenting on the launch of the BMW 5 Series, BMW Sdn Bhd managing director Wolfgang Schlimme said: "We selected Malaysia as the location for this event because we felt that Malaysia is an outstanding example of progress in this region.
