Continental Casualty, a CNA company in Chicago, took its LTC policies back to the drawing boards a while back, and the result is an entrely new generation: Long Term Care and Long Term Care Plus.
Already approved in 24 states, both products are crammed with enhancements over the company's earlier LTC contracts, which are now being shelved as state approvals for the new ones come in.
A key enhancement: LTC Plus includes a return-of-premium provision. Cost runs about 30 percent to 35 percent more than the base LTC plan.
Other enhancements apply to both contracts. These include:
