Ethics probe of Levinson to begin. (Delaware State Ethics Commission to investigate Delaware Insurance Commissioner David Levinson)

The Delaware State Ethics Commission is being asked by the state Senate to investigate possible conflict of interest and other violations by State Insurance Commissioner David Levinson. The Senate has not acted on four pieces of legislation passed by the state House which would limit Levinson's regulatory powers. There is concern that insurance company officials may be reticent to cooperate with the investigation because of the power of the state insurance department over them. The State Ethics Commission will have subpoena powers.

The Delaware Senate has chosen not to act on legislation passed earlier by the House limiting Insurance Commissioner David Levinson's regulatory authority, but has instead sent the matter to the State Ethics Commission for an investigation....
