N.Y. Life's U.K. subsidiary pursues benefits niche. (Windsor Group Ltd.)

Windsor Group Ltd, the British insurance subsidiary of New York Life, has received permission from industry regulators to acquire Aetna U.K.'s insurance operations. The acquisition will give Windsor Group 30,000 life insurance policyholders and access to a broader distribution network. In addition, Aetna U.K. has a strong market presence in private health insurance, which is analogous to group disability insurance in the US, and in employee benefits. The acquisition also gives Windsor access to a wide network of brokers.

LONDON--New York Life's British subsidiary, Windsor Group Ltd., recently received regulatory approval to acquire the life insurance operations of Aetna U.K., thereby strengthening its foothold in the U.K. marketplace.
