Fortis Inc is undergoing a reorganization to decentralize the health insurance company's operations and to make them more responsive. Fortis is being reorganized into Fortis Benefits Insurance Co, Fortis Financial Group, First Fortis Life Insurance Co and Fortis Financial Group. Fortis previously created Fortis Sales in 1992 to market insurance and financial products. Health care reform will radically change the health insurance industry, and Fortis management believes that the new structure will give the firm the flexibility to respond to a new environment.
