International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) and Lotus Development Corp. have developed several network-based products and services to help insurance companies reach customers via the Internet. The technologies are expected in 1997, according to the companies. IBM's "Insure-Commerce" utilizes Electronic Data Interchange to interface between agents and carriers.
