Automated Year 2000 fix on market.(Computer Associates International's CA-Fix 2000)

Computer Assoc International has introduced CA-Fix 2000 to fix the Year 2000 computer problem in COBOL programs. The program uses the 'windowing' technique which selects a number, such as '60', in which smaller numbers are assumed to be in the new year and larger numbers are assumed to be in the older year. This fix takes fewer staff members, less time to implement than a four digit change code.

The Year 2000 computer problem is still waiting for that silver bullet that will make it go away overnight, unfortunately. But fixing the problem may be a bit easier with a new automated product recently introduced by Islandia, N.Y.-based Computer Associates International.
