Elements of Pru fire report questioned.(fire at Prudential Insurance Company of America storage warehouse destroys records related to fraud litigation specifically stored there under court order)

Some attorneys are questioning Prudential's report on a May 5 fire at a storage warehouse that destroyed 4,320 boxes of documents the insurer was under a court order to preserve.

For one, they say Prudential told them that records destroyed or lost in the fire included agent personnel files from at least one regional office that is not specifically mentioned in the report as having documents destroyed in the fire.

Prudential issued the report on the fire at a Diversified Records Services storage facility in West Pittston, Pa. in response to a Nov. 12 letter from Judge Alfred Wolin who questioned Prudential's lack of written disclosure of the fire to the U.S. District Court of New Jersey.
