Microsoft And AMS Services Form Strategic Alliance

Microsoft Corp. and AMS Services Inc. have announced a strategic alliance under which AMS will develop its next generation of insurance products using the Microsoft Windows NT Server operating system and the BackOffice family of products.

According to Richard Roy, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Windsor, Conn.based AMS, the move was a logical next step for AMS which develops agency management software. 'We've already been using NT and Microsoft SQL in our mid-tier products,' he explained. 'The alliance will provide a more unified Microsoft solution to our 30,000 AMS customers.'

Key elements of the alliance, which became effective April 25, include:
