Two Companies Collect Half Of LTC Premium.(Conseco and General Electric Capital Corp; long-term care)

Conseco and General Electric Capital Corporation produce almost half of all long-term care insurance premium revenue, according to a new study from McKinsey & co.

The New York management consulting firm found that Conseco led the $2.2 billion market in 1996, the latest year for which detailed figures were available, with $567 million in LTC premium revenue, or 26 percent of the total.

GE Capital ranked second with $485 million in LTC premium revenue and a 22 percent share.
