American International Group, Inc., New York; Kemper Insurance Companies, Long Grove, Ill., and Prudential Insurance Company of America Newark, N.J., have announced plans to jointly enter the insurance aggregator market with a Web-based electronic insurance agency.

The venture, named Fusura, will allow consumers to research, buy, and manage their personal lines insurance needs online. The consortium says it aims to offer an end-to-end solution to brokerages, retail banks and other financial institutions, media companies, "and other organizations that have leading personal finance Web properties."
