SAMSUNG'S MEMORY CHIP SALES TO SURGE IN SEPTEMBER

Samsung Electronics memory chips sales in September are expected toreach US$630 million to $650 million, a new peak since November 2000.Brokerage company Dongwon Securities estimated Samsung's memory salesfor the third quarter at around $1.8 billion, also the largest figure sincethe fourth quarter of 2000.Dongwon said the average price of DRAM chips in the third quarterdropped some 8 percent compared with the second quarter.
Yet Samsung's DRAMoutput in the third quarter was expected to increase 34 percent from thesecond quarter due to upgraded production lines.The company's brisk sales of non- DRAM memory products, including flashmemories and static RAM, were also seen to boost its overall memorysales. - (World IT Report.com)
