RAYTHEON CO., AWARDED CONTRACT TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL UPGRADE TO THE VISIBLE INFRARED IMAGER.

(DoD) Raytheon Co., Goleta, Calif., is being awarded a $12,670,811 cost-plus award-fee contract modification to provide for technical upgrades to the Visible Infrared Imager Radiometer Suite satellite instrument that will allow it to communicate with other multiple instruments on board the National Polar-orbiting Environmental Satellite System.
At this time, no funds have been obligated. This work will be completed by December 2007. Solicitation began in June 2002 and negotiations were completed August 2002. The Headquarters Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base is the contracting activity (F04701-01-C-0500, P00027).
