CHINA MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS UNVEILS NEW OFFERINGS FOR GPRS SERVICE

China Mobile Communications Corp., the world's largest wirelessoperator, launched three new services this week, which it hopes will draw morenew subscribers to its GPRS high-speed data network.The introduction of the new services comes fast on the heels of ChinaMobile's launch of multimedia messaging service, or MMS, which allowssubscribers with specially equipped phones to exchange digital imagesor music.

Thus, the three new data services and MMS are designed to takeadvantage of the faster transmission speeds that GPRS technology offers, promisingto do things that would be cumbersome or impossible on the current generationof mobile phones.
