CISCO TO PROVIDE CHINA UNICOM NETWORK UPGRADE EQUIPMENT

Cisco Systems announced that it will provide China Unicom with packetnetworking equipment in the later's CDMA 1X network upgrade project,which covers China's 15 provinces including Guangdong, Guangxi, Shanghai,Jiangsu, Hubei, Zhejiang, Jilin, Jiangxi, Shandong, Hunan, Heilongjiang,Xinjiang, Chongqing, Shengzhen and Gansu.In this project, Cisco will provide PDSN Packet Data ServingNode(c), AAAAuthentication, Authorization, Accounting(c) and OMCOperations,Maintenance & Consoles(c),which consist of CDMA 1X core network forthe upgrade of the backbone.Cisco will also provide WLAN routers, LAN exchanges and firewalls forCDMA 1X packet networking.
