INDIA AMONG NOKIA'S TOP FIVE MARKETS

The world's largest mobile phones company, Nokia has identified Indiaas among the top five markets where it will introduce a new low- cost entryproducts strategy.The other markets which have been identified include China, Indonesia,Brazil and Russia and account for almost 3.5 billion population,according to Juha Pinomaa, director, product marketing and business development,mobile entry products, Nokia.According to Mr Pinomaa, Nokia is targeting these markets by enteringnew low-cost tier segments and reduce the cost of ownership. Nokia will belaunching a new model, Nokia 2100 in the sub US$100 price range tocreate a new category of buyers and increase volumes.Nokia has also strenuously pitched itself behind GSM technology formobile phones services in the current debate between CDMA...
